Round 2 Proposals and Round 1 Results!

Firstly, the results of last round's proposals:

Proposal #1 (were-rabbit): 2 Yes, 0 No
Proposal #2 (square colors): 2 Yes, 0 No

Both proposals pass and will be incorporated into the rules.

And now, proposals for the next round:

Proposal #1:
Insert in Section 7:
Wormholes:
  1. Before any player moves, the Admin shall create a Wormhole on the board.
  2. A Wormhole has two openings, chosen randomly.
  3. The Wormhole causes the openings to be considered like adjacent spaces.
  4. If a player may move through a worm-hole, the player must move through a worm-hole.
  5. When a Wormhole disappears, it leaves $25 in its wake at both openings. This money may be gained by moving OVER the space. To land on it is not enough.
  6. The Wormhole disappears after all players who may move have moved.
  7. The money left behind persists with a half-life of one turn.

Proposal #2:
That an item shop be created on a random square, and that the item shop shall sell the following items to any player that lands on or passes over the Square:
NameDescriptionCost
Were-CarrotMay be used to bribe the Were-Rabbit.$50
Were-Carrot SeedMay be planted in Dirt and Watered. If so, will grow into 1d6 Were-Carrots in one turn.$20
CupThis is an ordinary cup. It does things ordinary cups do, like hold water.$5
ShoeThis shoe was made for walking$30

Proposal #3:
Insert into Section 7:
A Player's lap count is incremented by one every time that Player moves forward from the Last Square to the First Square (whatever the respective numbers of those Squares may be) and decremented every time that Player moves backward from the First Square to the Last Square.

Round 1 Starts!

And thus, with much fanfare (or maybe at least a toy-trumpet blast), Round 1 has begun!

Don't forget to send in your moves (not much to do yet, I know), proposals for Round 2 and votes for Round 1 proposals! (And, yes, I only received two proposals for Round 1, so if you sent one and it's not up there, then I'm not getting your email and you should leave a comment instead).

I had a couple questions come in already, so I'll share them and my answers here:

Q: How early can we vote?

A: You can vote any time during the round (week), so now is fine.

Q: Can we suggest amendments to the proposals?

A: I'll let you have small tweaks on your own proposal, provided no one has voted on it yet, but generally (and you can, of course, change this ;-) ) if you want to modify someone else's proposal, it'll either have to pass, and become part of the rules, at which point you can modify as usual, or, if it fails, you can re-propose with the changes you like.

Round 1 Proposals

Hi everyone! I know it's a day early, but I'm so excited I just wanted to get started. You can still send me proposals until midnight (US mountain time, I probably should've specified that before...) tonight.

Proposal #1:
Insert the following text where appropriate:
  1. Were-Rabbit:
    1. An NPC called the Were-Rabbit be created.
    2. The Were-Rabbit occupies a randomly-chosen space initially.
    3. Any player who would move past the Were-Rabbit must win a Battle with it or Bribe it; otherwise that player's progress is halted before crossing the Were-Rabbit's Space.
    4. That the Were-Rabbit shall move before all other players in the turn.
    5. That the Administrator shall move the Were-Rabbit by rolling a 6-sided die to determine the Magnitude of the Were-Rabbit's motion, and flipping a fair coin to determine the Direction (heads: toward Space #1; tails: toward Space #20).
    6. That the Were-Rabbit will Battle or require a Bribe from every player whose space it crosses in its Move, according to the desires of said player.
    7. Battle:
      1. The Player and the Were-Rabbit each roll a same-sided die.
      2. The Admin rolls for both the Were-Rabbit and the Player.
      3. The higher roll wins.
      4. If the loser is a Player, that player shall forfeit $100 to the Were-Rabbit's Hoard.
      5. If the loser is the Were-Rabbit, the Were-Rabbit will leave
behind half of its Hoard to the winner.
      6. In the event of a tie, no money is exchanged.
    8. Bribes:
      1. You may bribe the Were-Rabbit by paying $100.

Proposal #2:
Insert the following as Section 7.9:
Each square will be randomly colored one of the following colors excepting the colors of its predecessor and successor. The color of the square limits what may be placed in that square:
  • Blue - water
  • Red - brick
  • Green - grass
  • Yellow - dirt
